27/May/2026 - MVC with Air Evac - "A" Shift At 20:11 Wednesday evening 27-May, Fire-Rescue and SC Hwy Patrol were sent to I-95 near the 42 mile marker southbound for a two vehicle MVC in a construction zone. A southbound Dodge Durango collided with a stopped Escalade that was hauling a boat. Both vehicles received heavy damage and blocked the southbound lanes. Firefighter-Paramedics from Station # 13 arrived within minutes and began treating the driver of the Durango. Click here for additional information. |

23/May/2026 - Fatal MVC with Entrapment - "C" Shift Colleton and Dorchester County Fire-Rescue responded to a fatal vehicle accident on I-95 near the 69 mile marker South bound Saturday morning 23-May at 01:29. A southbound semi truck struck the guard rail then the bridge abutment before going over the bridge and overturning in the river bed. The truck received heavy damage and caught fire impinging on the bridge. The accident was in Dorchester County near the Colleton/Dorchester County line. Colleton Fire-Rescue units assisted Dorchester County units. Click here for additional information. |

22/May/2026 - Fire-Rescue Week Colleton Firefighters were treated to some nice treats and food during Fire-Rescue Week. Fire-Rescue's Command Staff provided meals for crews on Wednesday and Friday. HCA - Colleton Hospital provided a luncheon for all Fire-Rescue and EMS Agencies in the area. Fire-Rescue is very appreciative of the community support and are thankfully for everyone who donated, prepared, cooked, cleaned, and cleaned after the meals. Click here for additional information. |

20/May/2026 - Fatal Structure Fire - "B" Shift One adult perished and another adult was critically burned in a structure fire in the 100 block of Fire Hill Road Wednesday morning 20-May at 04:24. Four dogs and seven snakes also died in the fire. The adults were awaken to the fire in the living room in the center of the double wide mobile home. Both adults were able to get the three children out of the burning home unharmed. At some point one adult reentered the home in an attempt to save the animals and became trapped. 19/May/2026 - Stabbing Incident - "B" Shift An adult received a non-life threatening stab wound to the left upper arm during a domestic incident at 402 North Jefferies Blvd., at the Friendly Inn Tuesday 19-May at 19:22. The patient was found bleeding in the parking lot. Firefighter-Paramedics treated wounds and controlled the bleeding prior to transporting the patient to HCA Colleton Hospital. 13-May-2026 - Multi-vehicle MVC w/Entrapment - "A" Shift A five car MVC at Jefferies Hwy. (US Hwy 15) and Dandridge Road injured several people and block Jefferies Hwy. for an hour Wednesday afternoon 13-May at 14:45. Two vehicles collided in front of Dominion Energy causing them to strike three other cars. The driver of a Kia was trapped in the car. All patients were treated by Firefighter-Paramedic's at the scene. Crews used Holmatro rescue tools to extricate the driver of the Kia and was transported emergent by Fire-Rescue Medic 1. 12/May/2026 - MVC with Entrapment - "B" Shift Two people were injured, one seriously, in a head-on collision in the 5100 block of Green Pond Hwy. (SC Hwy 303) south of Possum Corner Road Tuesday morning 12-May at 06:38. A NB Toyota Camry collided head-on with a SB Utility Truck, trapping the driver of the Camry. The driver of the pickup truck received non-life threatening injuries and was able to exit the vehicle. The driver of the Camry suffered multiple traumatic injuries. 11/May/2026 - Gas Line Breakage - "B" Shift At 11:06 on Monday 11-May, 9-1-1 was notified that a construction crew had accidentally dug up a Gas Line at 1306 Hampton St. The company was clearing overgrown brush in the vacant lot when they struck an above ground gas line. The line was broken and actively discharging a large amount natural gas in the area. Several Fire-Rescue apparatus arrived at the location a short time later and closed one block of Hampton Street and Colson Street. Click here for additional information. |

09/May/2026 - Motorcoach MVC - "C" Shift At approximately 1248 AM, the 911 center received reports of a crash in 3200 Block of Confederate Highway. Phone service in the remote area is not the best and there were limited details. The 911 caller reported the driver was trapped in the wreckage due to the front of the bus being crushed. Heavy Rescue assets, Battalion 1, and CARE Flight were added to the incident. M-18 arrived moments later. Click here for additional information. |

08-May-2026 - High Speed MVC - "C" Shift An adult and three children were injured in a high speed, single vehicle MVC on Augusta Hwy. (SC Hwy 61) at Heavy Feather Lane Friday evening 08-May at 22:29. The southbound passenger car crossed into the northbound lane, where it went down an embankment. The car struck a driveway culvert, became airborne and collided with a power pole, breaking it into several pieces. The small car then jumped a driveway, then struck a parked car, before striking several small trees approx. 15 feet above the ground. Click here for additional information. |
