Incident # 26-04029 - A five car MVC at Jefferies Hwy. (US Hwy 15) and Dandridge Road injured several people and block Jefferies Hwy. for an hour Wednesday afternoon 13-May at 14:45. Two vehicles collided in front of Dominion Energy causing them to strike three other cars. The driver of a Kia was trapped in the car. All patients were treated by Firefighter-Paramedic's at the scene. Crews used Holmatro rescue tools to extricate the driver of the Kia and was transported emergent by Fire-Rescue Medic 1 to the Trauma Center at HCA Trident Hospital in North Charleston. The remaining patients who required additional treatment were transported to HCA Colleton Hospital in Walterboro. The Walterboro Police Dept is investigating the MVC.
Medic 1, Medic 19, Medic 20, Tender 24, Rescue 1, Battalion 1, Car 112 and Walterboro Fire Dept. responded. Captain KC Campbell served as incident Commander.
