4/30/2013-
The Charleston Chapter of the American Red Cross will be holding a blood drive in honor of Firefighter-Paramedic Jordan Eaddy Thursday, 02-May at the Career Skills Center across from Station # 19. The address is 1085 Thunderbolt Drive, Walterboro. The blood drive will begin at 08:00 and run until 13:00.

A Facebook page has been established to provide updates on Jordan’s progress. You can access the page on Facebook, by going to Jordan Eaddy Support Group. He is still in the ICU at MUSC.

4/29/2013-
The Hampton County Hometown Heroes Charity 5K Run/Walk will be held Saturday, August 24, 2013 beginning at 08:30. According to the flyer, 100% of the proceeds from this race will go towards assisting Firefighter/Paramedic Jordan Eaddy and Firefighter/EMT Catlin Schroyer with their medical expenses. Both personnel are facing serious medical issues with ongoing treatments.  
Anyone interested in participating may mail a registration form along with your check to: Hampton County Fire Department, c/o Charity 5K, 600 Second Street West, Hampton, SC 29924.

Packet pick-up will be August 24th, 2013 beginning at 07:00 at Hampton Fire Department.

28/April/2013 – Structure Fire – “C” Shift

A fire in home at 1140 Community Ave north of the Town of Smoaks, heavily damaged the residence. Fire-Rescue was notified of the incident by a passerby who noticed flames coming from the home. Firefighters responded at 08:42 and arrived to find the singlewide mobile home approximately 50% involved. The roof and floor in the center of the residence had already burned away. 23/April/2013 – MVC with entrapment & Air Evac – “C” Shift

A single car, high speed MVC has left a 42 year old man with life threatening injuries. The accident occurred sometime before 06:00 on Carter’s Ford Road just south of Paschal Road near the Town of Lodge, Tuesday 23-April. A hunter discovered the vehicle on the dark rural road and reported the accident at 06:08. Firefighter-Paramedics found the man entrapped in the 2000 Ford Explorer. 18/April/2013 – Triple Shooting Incident – “B” Shift

Three people were shot, two critically, at a residence located at 391 Red Comet Road south of Walterboro Thursday evening 18-April at 22:05. Firefighter-Paramedics treated two adult males and an adult female at the scene. A 35 yr old man and a 42 yr old female were both shot multiple times. A 41 year old man also received a non-life threatening GSW to the leg. Click here for additional information.

 

18/April/2013 – Structure Fire – “B” Shift

Firefighters spent nearly 35 minutes bringing a large mobile home fire under control Thursday morning 18-April. At 09:49, 9-1-1 Operators received a report from a neighbor that the home located at 201 Daniels Lane was on fire. The long narrow, dead end dirt road presented some access problems for apparatus. 4/15/2013-
The annual Relay for Life event will be held on Friday 10-May at the Middle School Track. Paula Jacques is heading up our department’s participation and coordinating the operation of the concession stand. She needs volunteers to assist with cooking and serving. We wish to congratulate Firefighter-Paramedic John Schneider and wife Keahna on the birth of their second child. Benjamin was born at 12:00 on Thursday 04-April. He weighed 6 pounds, 8 oz and was 19 inches long. Both Benjamin and Keahna are home now and doing fine.

We wish to congratulate Firefighter Jeremy Shearer and his wife Jamie on the birth of their daughter Emma Adelyne who was born on 04-April at 19:22. Emma weighed 6lbs 6oz and was 20 inches. Everyone is doing great.  Click here for more information.

13/April/2013 – Fatal Shooting Incident – “C” Shift

At 24 year old Colleton County man lost his life in a shooting incident in the 600 block of Francis Street. 9-1-1 received reports of a man being shot on Crosby Street near Francis Street at 18:43 Saturday 13-April. Walterboro Public Safety Officers and Sheriff’s Deputies converged on the area within minutes and found the man lying by the side of Francis Street... click here for additional information.

 

07/April/2013 – High Speed MVC – “C” Shift

Two men were injured in a high speed MVC on Ritter Road at Ivanhoe Creek Sunday evening 07-April at 20:21. The eastbound pickup truck failed to negotiate a curve, overcorrected and crossed to the westbound side of the highway. The pickup struck the bridge abutment, became airborne and crashed into the Ivanhoe Swamp. Click here for additional information.

 

07/April/2013 – MVC with two Air Evacs – “C” Shift

Two people received critical injuries in a motorcycle accident on Sniders Highway (SC Hwy 63) Sunday afternoon 7-April at 14:35. The eastbound Honda Aspercade lost control near Murdaugh Road and flipped over several times ejecting the two riders. The large motorcycle landed on an adult male causing additional injuries. 07/April/2013 – MVC with ejection & Air Evac – “B” Shift

A high speed single car MVC sent two people to the hospital Sunday morning 07-April. At 03:37, 9-1-1 was notified of the accident in approximately the 900 block of Tuskegee Airman Drive. Engine 19 and Medic 19 arrived to find a small Ford SUV in the woods. The eastbound vehicle failed to negotiate a curve, went off of the right shoulder, rolled over multiple times striking several trees... click here for more information.

 

06/April/2013 - Lowcountry Regional Airport Airshow

The Lowcountry Regional Airport hosted their annual Wings and Wheels air show Saturday 6-April. This was the largest year with several thousand spectators in attendance. The crowds were treated to aerial acrobatics, vintage, modern and experimental aircraft and an antique car show. There were parachutists, helicopter rides and private jets and well. 03/April/2013 – MVC with entrapment/Two Fatalities – “B” Shift

Units from Colleton and Dorchester Counties responded to a three vehicle, high speed MVC on US Hwy 17-A east of Cottageville, Wednesday night 03-April at 22:03. The accident was originally reported to be in Colleton County at the Colleton/Dorchester County line at the Edisto River. Click here for additional information. 

 

02/April/2013 – Structure Fire – “C” Shift

A morning fire at 1133 Ulmer Lake Road heavily damaged a residential dwelling. At 05:57 Tuesday 02-April, 9-1-1 Operators received reports of fire coming from the roof of the home at this address. Engine 1 arrived several minutes later and positioned east of the building. They found the doublewide mobile home approximately 25% involved... click here for additional information.
