12/June/2026 - MVC with Air Evac - "C" Shift


Incident # 26-04952 - An adult was critically injured when the moped crossed into the path of an east bound Ford Explorer Friday afternoon 12-June at 18:02. The accident occurred at the intersection of Hampton Street and Hickory Street. The Explorer was traveling west on Hampton Street when the moped pulled out from Hickory Street striking the Explorer head-on. The small moped received extensive damage and ejected the driver who landed unconscious in the roadway. The driver was not wearing a helmet and suffered multiple traumatic injuries and a head injury. The two occupants of the Explorer were not injured. The 1800 block of Hampton Street was blocked for two hours while the Highway Patrol investigated the crash. Sheriff's Deputies rerouted traffic. Firefighter-Paramedics quickly treated the injured at the scene and requested the CARE Flight medical helicopter. The patient was placed into Fire-Rescue Medic 19 and driven emergent to the CARE Flight base. The patient was transferred to the Flight Crew, then flown to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston. 


Engine 19, Medic 19 and Battalion 1 responded. Captain Tony Keen served as Incident Commander.
