19/March/2026 - Structure Fire - "C" Shift


Incident # 26-02214 - A fire in the wall of a home caused moderate damage to the structure in the 100 block of Grayson Street Thursday 19-March at 12:13. The incident was initially dispatched as a fire alarm. Workers were at the home making a repair to a copper water line under the floor of the kitchen. While soldering the pipe with a torch, a nearby joist was set on fire. The fire run up the inside of the wall. Medic 26 arrived to find the workers attempting the extinguish the fire. Smoke and flames could be seen coming from the kitchen window. The incident was upgraded to a structure fire, bringing additional units to the scene. Firefighters had to remove some kitchen cabinets and portions of the wall and flooring to reach the burning joists and studs. Crews were on the scene for 1-1/2 hours. Damage was isolated to the wall in the kitchen. No injuries were reported. 


Engine 19, Engine 26, Tender 1, Tender 19, Tender 27, Tender 90, Car 107 and Car 112 responded. Captain KC Campbell served as Incident Commander.
