10/March/2026 - Structure Fire - "C" shift


Incident # 26-01923 - A Ruffin family was displaced following a fire that heavily damaged their doublewide mobile home Tuesday morning 10-March. The fire was reported at 09:51 in the 700 block of Field Creek Road by a passing motorist. Engine 18 arrived to find the front the structure well involved, with heavy smoke conditions and flames running along the center of the roof line. Firefighter-Paramedics deployed multiple handlines to the building and quickly knocked down the fire on the front porch. They made entry into the structure through the front door. Firefighters rescued four dogs, a rabbit, two mice and several fish from the burning structure. The fire appears to have started on the front porch, then burned into the living room and the attic space, where it ran the roof line. Interior crews had to pull the ceilings in several rooms to reach the fire in the attic space. Most of the personal belongings in the bedrooms was salvageable, but the home did not appear to be repairable. Fire-Rescue units were on the scene for approximately 3 hours.


Engine 7, Engine 18, Tender 4, Tender 7, Tender 18, Tender 27, Medic 7, Medic 18, Battalion 1, Car 103 and Car 107 responded. Battalion Chief Chris Jones served as Incident Commander.
