Incident # 26-00692 - Two people were shot in an incident at a residence in the 200 block of Wesley Grove Road early Monday morning 26-Jan at 01:52. Two Fire-Rescue ambulances were assigned to the incident. Units had to stage a short distance from the scene due to the suspect still being armed at the scene. Sheriff's Deputies arrived quickly and performed a great job taking the suspect into custody and securing the scene. They began treating the injured people until Firefighter-Paramedics arrived. An adult female suffered critical injuries and was deceased. An adult male received a non-life threatening gun shot wound. He was treated at the scene, then transported by Fire-rescue Medic 9 to HCA Colleton Hospital in Walterboro. The suspect was transported by the Sheriff's Office. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation by the Sheriff's Office.
Engine 9, Medic 9, Medic 19 and Battalion 1 responded. Battalion Chief Scott O'Quinn served as Incident Commander.
