10/January/2026 - MVC with Entrapment & Air Evac


Incident # 26-00267 - An adult male was injured in a single vehicle, high speed MVC at the intersection of Powder Horn Rd and Can City Rd Saturday evening 10-Jan at 21:43. The passenger car drove through the "T" intersection and entered the woods driving approx. 30 feet into the woods. The car went down an embankment and flipped over on its roof, trapping the driver. First arriving Firefighter-Paramedics could speak to the man, but could not reach him. Crews used a chainsaw to remove brush from around the car, then used a variety of rescue tools to gain access to the man. He was removed with spinal precautions. A medical helicopter was requested and CARE Flight responded to the parking lot at Circle C Truck Stop on Augusta Hwy near I-95. Fire-Rescue Medic 7 transported him to meet with the helicopter. He was flown to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the MVC. 


Engine 5, Engine 7, Engine 26, Medic 7, Medic 26, Rescue 1, Rescue 18, Battalion 1, Car 105 and Car 110 responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as Incident Commander.
