10/January/2026 - Woods/Shed Fire - "C" Shift

Incident # 26-00256 - A woods fire damaged approximately eight acres and a shed at a residence in the 13800 block of Mount Carmel Road south of Smoaks Saturday afternoon 10-Jan at 15:44. Engine 7 and Engine 18 arrived to find the fast moving woods fire. Dry conditions and winds quickly spread the fire. Engine 7 requested additional resources and a Tractor from the Forestry Commission. Crews were able to keep the flames from reaching within feet of a double wide mobile home on the property. The Forestry tractor cut a double fire line around the perimeter of the fire to contain it. Brush 27 was able to navigate down a small overgrown path to reach the shed fire. Firefighters used a booster line to extinguish the shed. Fire units were on the scene for 2 hours.

Engine 7, Engine 18, Engine 26, Tender 26, Brush 27, Medic 18 and Medic 26 responded. Captain Mike Duffy served as Incident Commander.
