Incident # 25-10354 - An adult female was seriously injured in a single vehicle MVC in the 300 block of McLeod Road Monday afternoon 29-Dec at 16:25. The eastbound Chevrolet S-10 Blazer lost control in a curve, crossed both lanes, struck a tree at a high rate of speed then blocked both lanes. The female driver received multiple injuries and was trapped in the wreckage. A bystander notified 9-1-1 and assisted the woman until responders arrived. Firefighter-Paramedics treated the woman in the car, while other crew members used hand tools and Holmatro Pentheon Rescue tools to extricate the woman. She was transported emergent in Fire-Rescue Medic 26 to the Trauma Center at HCA Trident Hospital in North Charleston. The SC Hwy Patrol is investigating the MVC. The Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
Engine 26, Tender 26, Medic 26, Rescue 1, Car 112 and Car 118 responded. Captain KC Campbell served as Incident Commander.
