23/December/2025 - Woods and Vehicle Fire - "C" Shift

Incident # 25-10149 - Approximately eight acres of woods/brush along a power line right-a-way burned Tuesday 23-December. The fire was reported at 11:24 in the 700 block of Bluehouse Lane. Engine 1 arrived to find the fast moving woods fire, which was endangering several structures. They positioned next to one home to protect the residence. The fire had already spread into the woods on both sides of the right-a-way, setting four vehicles on fire. Crews deployed multiple hand lines and requested additional resources to assist with the fire. Four additional stations were assigned to the incident and the Forestry Commission dispatched one tractor. Firefighters spent an hour containing the blaze, using brush trucks and hand tools. They were able to keep the flames from reaching any buildings and a large corn field. The Forestry tractor plowed a fire line around the perimeter of the fire. Fire-Rescue units were on the scene for two and half hours. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Engine 1, Engine 13, Engine 27, Tender 1, Tender 6, Brush 6, Brush 8, Medic 1, Medic 6, Medic 13, and Car 116 responded. Captain Matt Parler served as Incident Commander.
