Incident # 25-09911 - An adult male was severely burned Sunday afternoon 14-Dec. Bystanders reported the man had fallen into a burn pit at his residence which set his clothes on fire. The incident was reported at 16:14 in the 200 block of Enterprise Street east of Walterboro. The man received first, second and third degree burns to the right side of his body, including leg, arm, chest, neck and face. He advised he was having trouble breathing. Firefighter-Paramedics treated the man at the scene, then rapidly transported him to the CARE Flight base to meet with the flight crew. The patient was transferred to the helicopter, then flown to the Burn Center at MUSC in Charleston.
Medic 1, Battalion 1 and Car 110 responded. Battalion Chief Chris Jones served as Incident Commander.
