Incident # 25-09299 - An adult male received life threatening injuries in a high speed single vehicle crash on Round O Road north of Bodison Memorial Dr. Friday evening 22-Nov at 21:18. The south bound Honda Accord left the roadway and struck a tree causing heavy damage. The car overturned trapping the unrestrained driver. The driver, who was the only occupant, received multiple trauma injuries. Firefighter-Paramedics used multiple hand tools to extricate the man. A medical helicopter responded to a field near the scene. The patient was treated at the scene, then transported in Fire-Rescue Medic 9 to meet with the CARE Flight helicopter. He was flown to the Trauma Center at HCA Trident Hospital in North Charleston. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
Engine 9, Medic 9, Rescue 1, Battalion 1, Brush 27 and Car 111 responded. Firefighter-EMT Brett Beach served as Incident Commander.
