20/November/2025 - Mary Jolly Procession - "B" Shift

Colleton County Fire-Rescue Responders had the privilege to honor fallen Gaston County NC Paramedic Mary Jolly Thursday 20-November. Paramedic Jolly was in Florida on Interstate 95 on 15-November, when she stopped to render aid to a person injured in a motor vehicle collision. While assisting the injured person, she was struck by another motorist and critically injured. Sadly she passed away from her injuries on 17-November.

Personnel from Gaston County travelled to Florida to assist her family and transport Paramedic Jolly's body back to North Carolina. The procession followed a predesignated route following I-95 to I-26 and was escorted by the Florida Highway Patrol, the Georgia State Patrol, SC Highway Patrol and the NC State Highway Patrol. First Responders from many agencies in four states lined overpasses along the route to pay respects to Ms. Jolly. Colleton Fire-Rescue staged units and personnel at Lowcountry Highway, Combahee Road, Black Creek Road, Sniders Highway, Beach Road and Augusta Highway. The procession passed through Colleton County around 12:30.

Please remember the Jolly family and our brothers and sisters at Gaston County EMS in your thoughts and prayers. Jolly's family has started The Jolly Good Samaritan Scholarships to support aspiring first responders. Her family is raising money on Go Fund Me for the scholarship fund.
