Incident # 25-09140 - A 23 yr old Hendersonville man was severely injured in a high speed, single vehicle accident in the 700 block of Ritter Road Saturday night at 23:44. The westbound Chevrolet Suburban failed to negotiate a curve, crossed to the eastbound shoulder and struck an oak tree. The Suburban received heavy damage. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and suffered multiple traumatic injuries. He was conscious when Firefighter-Paramedics arrived. They began treating him at the scene and requested a medical helicopter. CARE Flight responded to the field behind Fire Station # 25 on White Hall Road. The patient was transferred to the Flightcrew, then flown to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the MVC. The Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
Engine 1, Medic 13, Battalion 1, Car 111 and Car 118 responded. Captain Bryon Eadon served as Incident Commander.
