Incident # 25-03923 - Two adult males were transported to a Trauma Center after the ATVs they were riding collided head-on in the 2300 block of Johnsville Road Saturday afternoon 17-May at 16:17. Engine 7 and Medic 7 treated the men at the scene and requested a medical helicopter and a second Fire-Rescue ambulance. Initial reports to 9-1-1 advised one man was unconscious. Neither driver was wearing a helmet and both suffered multiple traumatic injuries. C.A.R.E. Flight landed in a field on Silkhope Lane, then flew one patient to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston. The second man was transported emergent in Fire-Rescue Medic 18 with additional Firefighter-Paramedics on board to assist with his care. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
Engine 7, Medic 7, Medic 18, Car 110 and C.A.R.E. Flight responded.
