05/April/2024 - Overturned Vehicle - "A" Shift

Incident # 24-02623 - A box style delivery truck overturned on I-95 near the 41 mile marker southbound, Friday morning 05-April a little after midnight. 9-1-1 began receiving calls about the accident at 00:18 reporting three people were injured. The truck left the roadway and overcorrected causing it to overturn in the highway. The truck came to rest blocking both southbound lanes. The roof of the cargo portion broke open, spilling the load onto the breakdown lane which cut off southbound traffic. Two adults and a small child were injured. Fire-Rescue sent two ambulances to the scene. All patients were transported to the Colleton Medical Center. Firefighter-Paramedics spent 30 minutes clearing debris from the road so they could open one lane. Traffic backed up several miles. The SC Hwy Patrol is investigating the MVC.

Engine 1, Medic 1, Medic 13, Battalion 1 and Car 111 responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as Incident Commander.
