16/February/2024 - Structure Fire - "A" Shift

Incident # 24-01290 - Firefighters saved a Red Comet Rd home following a fire that caused heavy damage to the kitchen. At 16:05 Friday afternoon 16-Feb, 9-1-1 received a report that the home was on fire. Engine 1 arrived to find heavy smoke conditions from the eaves on all sides of the single story residential dwelling. Firefighter-Paramedics made entry through the front door and quickly had the fire under control. The fire originated on the stove and burned into the cabinets and had breached the ceiling entering the attic space. Crews pulled the ceiling in the kitchen to extinguish the fire in the attic and were able to contain the fire damage to the area of the kitchen. The remainder of the home suffered smoke damage, but most personal belongings were saved. All occupants had safely exited the home. Firefighter-Paramedics treated one man at the scene, but he did not require ambulance transport to the hospital. Units were on the scene for 1-1/2 hours. 

Engine 1, Engine 19, Tender 1, Tender 19, Tender 26, Medic 1, Medic 19, Battalion 1, Car 105, Car 107, Car 111 and Car 118 responded. Battalion CHief Scott O'Quinn served as Incident Commander.
