14/January/2024 - Structure Fire - "A" Shift

Incident # 24-00418 - A Catholic Hill residence received substantial damage in an early morning fire Sunday 14-January. At 07:55, a passing motorist noticed flames coming from a home in the 100 block of Clover Hill Road and called 9-1-1. Engine 6 arrived 5 minutes later to find a singlewide mobile home approximately 30% involved, with heavy fire and smoke showing. Firefighter-Paramedics deployed multiple handlines and quickly knocked down the flames. Crews entered the structure through the front door and finished extinguishing the fire. The home had a heavy fire load and crews had problems accessing the back of the structure. No one was at home when the fire occurred. The cause of the fire is suspicious and is under investigation.  Anyone with information regarding the fire is urged to contact the Colleton County Sheriff's Office at (843) 549-2211, Fire-Rescue at (843) 539-1960 or the SLED Arson Hotline at 800-92-ARSON.
