27/December/2023 - Structure Fire - "A" Shift

Incident # 23-09869 - A fire in a mobile home caused damage to the building Wednesday afternoon 27-December in the 1200 block of Lumber Road north of the Town of Williams. Engine 18 arrived to find light smoke coming from the doublewide mobile home. Firefighter-Paramedics deployed one handline and entered through the front door. The fire was located near the back door and was quickly extinguished. The home owner discovered the fire and removed a burning table from the utility room and cut off the power to the home, which lessened the damage. The fire appeared to have started on the table, then extended into the wall and the breaker panel. Two aerosol cans were also involved which helped spread the fire when they ignited. Crews pulled a portion of the wall and ceiling to extinguish the fire, then set up a PPV fan to force smoke from the home. Fire damage was contained to the utility room, but the home suffered smoke damage throughout. All personnel items were saved and no injuries were reported.

Engine 7, Engine 18, Tender 3, Tender 7, Tender 15, Tender 18, Medic 7, Medic 18, Battalion 1 and Car 111 responded. Battalion Chief Scott O'Quinn served as Incident Commander.
