18/November/2023 - Structure Fire - "A" Shift

Incident # 23-08837 - At 16:00, Fire-Rescue was dispatched to a reported structure fire behind a business in the 1600 block of Hampton Street. Fire units and Sheriff's Deputies responded to the location but there was no fire. Units began searching the area and a few minutes later located the fire three blocks away in the 300 block of Edgewood Street. Engine 19, arrived to find a small singlewide mobile home with heavy smoke visible and flames coming from the roof. Firefighter-Paramedics deployed two handlines and forced entry through the front, then the rear door. Crews quickly brought the fire under control, but the home suffered substantial damage. No one was at home when the fire occurred and it is believed the occupants were in the process of moving out. The fire appears to have originated in the living room. The cause is under investigation. 

Engine 19, Engine 27, Tender 1, Tender 19, Tender 26, Tender 27, Medic 1, Medic 19, Battalion 1, Car 111 and Car 118 responded. Battalion Chief Scott O'Quinn served as Incident Commander.
