18/November/2023 - Structure Fire - "A" Shift

Incident # 23-08834 - A Jonesville home was damaged in a morning fire Saturday 18-November. At 10:38, a neighbor notified 9-1-1 of smoke coming from a home in the 300 block of Ground Circle. Engine 13 arrived minutes later to find a double wide mobile home with heavy smoke visible from all sides and flames coming from the roof in the rear of the building. Firefighter-Paramedics deployed multiple handlines and forced entry through the front door. Crews quickly knocked down the fire in the kitchen, but the fire had spread into the attic space, extending across one side of the structure. Firefighters pulled the ceiling in several rooms to extinguish the flames. Most of the fire damage was contained to the kitchen and a portion of the attic space. The interior suffered from moderate smoke and water damage, but most personal items were saved. The fire originated on the stove, burned up the rear wall and into the attic space. The roof over the kitchen was burned away. No one was inside the structure when the fire occurred and no injuries were reported. Water supply was conducted with Tenders. Fire units were on the scene for two hours. The Red Cross is assisting the family.

Engine 1, Engine 13, Tender 1, Tender 8, Tender 13, Tender 18, Medic 1, Medic 6, Medic 13, Battalion 1 and Car 111 responded. Captain Brian Eadon served as Incident Commander.
