Incident # 23-08036 - Fire-Rescue responded to a structure fire in a 20x20 workshop in the 900 block of Symly Road north of Ruffin Saturday evening 21-October at 18:29. The occupants advised they were cooking when grease started the fire. They notified 9-1-1 and extinguished most of the fire with a garden hose. Engine 18 arrived to find light smoke coming from the small building and deployed one handline. Firefighters extinguished the remaining fire around the doorway. Quick action by the homeowner saved the building and kept damage to a minimum. No injuries were reported. The building suffered moderate damage.
