14/April/2023 - National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week

Fire-Rescue and several other agencies recognized our local Telecommunicators during the second week of April. Fire crews provided lunch to the on duty dispatchers Friday 14-April. National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week is held annually during the second week of April to recognize these vital public servants. The 9-1-1 Center, operated locally through the Sheriff's Office, is the first point of contact for person's requiring emergency assistance from Law Enforcement, Fire-Rescue or Animal Services. The dispatchers coordinate a large amount of resources and provide a life saving link between field responders and the citizens who may need help. In some cases, the Dispatchers provide life saving instruction to callers to 9-1-1. These truly dedicated individuals perform an awesome job for our community.
