20/February/2023 - High Speed MVC - "C" Shift

Incident # 23-01319 - Four people were transported to area Trauma Centers following a two vehicle high speed MVC on Bells Hwy. (SC Hwy 64) at the intersection of Doctor's Creek Road Monday afternoon 20-February at 14:21. Both vehicles were traveling west bound when they collided and slid off into the ditch. A six year old male was unresponsive. He was treated at the scene, then transported emergent in Fire-Rescue Medic 1 to the Shawn Jenkins Children's Trauma Center at MUSC. An adult male and an adult female from the same vehicle were transported to the adult Trauma Center at MUSC by Fire-Rescue Medic 7. Medic 26 transported an adult female to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center. Traffic on Bells Hwy was blocked for about 45 minutes. Area medical helicopters were on other assignments and not available. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident. The Sheriff;s Office and DNR assisted at the scene. 

Engine 26. Rescue 1, Medic 1, Medic 7, Medic 26, Battalion 1, Car 111 and Car 118 responded. Battalion Chief Chris Jones served as Incident Commander.
