08/February/2023 - Water Rescue Training - "C" Shift

Firefighters spent most of the day Wednesday 08-February training on the Edisto River. Crews used the Department's Skiff and both Inflatables to practice rescue operations on the river. The water levels are elevated this time of year and the current is swifter than normal, providing real life hazards for the responders to work in. Firefighters practiced pulling simulated victims from the water, rescuing individuals from the trees and snags as well as maneuvering the watercraft in the swift water. They launched from Mars Old Field Landing.
