06/January/23 - Structure Fire - "C" Shift

Incident # 23-00148 - A grass fire spread out of control and damaged a singlewide mobile home in the 200 block of Sixth Street Friday afternoon 06-January. At 15:16, a neighbor called reporting the grass fire which was spreading throughout the yard at a residence at 210. About five minutes later a second caller reported the fire was burning a boat and wooden deck on the residence. Engine 19 arrived to find the yard, boat, deck and underpinning on fire. Firefighter-Paramedics deployed one handline to the home and extinguished the deck, then pulled a portion of the underpinning. The fire had burned under the mobile home, but crews were able to knock down the flames before it damaged the residence. After saving the home, crews extinguished the yard fire and boat. Fire units were on the scene for about 45 minutes. No injuries were reported during the incident. 

Engine 19, Engine 27, Tender 1, Tender 19, Tender 26, Tender 27, Battalion 1 and Car 111 responded. Battalion Chief Chris Jones served as Incident Commander.
