20/September/2022 - Structure Fire - "C" Shift
Incident # 22-07301 - An Edisto River house was destroyed in an afternoon fire in the 3700 block of Cannon Road Tuesday 20-Sept at 16:47. A neighbor called 9-1-1 and reported seeing the building on fire through the woods. The home was located approximately 150 feet off of the roadway behind heavy brush and woods. Engine 19 arrived to find the single story wood frame dwelling fully involved. The roof and walls on one side of the building had already collapsed. Firefighters had problems accessing the property, but located a small path through the woods. They extended a 3 inch supply line down the path and then connected smaller hand lines to reach the fire. Crews were on the scene for three hours. The home was destroyed in the blaze. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Engine 19, Engine 26, Engine 36, Tender 19, Tender 26, Tender 32, Medic 7, Medic 19, Medic 26, Car 104 and Car 112 responded. Captain K.C. Campbell served as Incident Commander.
