20/September/2022 - High Speed MVC - "C" Shift

Incident # 22-07300 - Four people were transported to Colleton Medical Center following a collision between a SUV and a semi-truck on I-95 at the 40 mile marker southbound near the Combahee River Tuesday afternoon 20-September at 15:39. According to a witness, the Chevrolet Suburban collided with the rear of the Semi, striking the rear tires. The Suburban was propelled into the back of the cab, then rolled off of the truck, overturning on the bridge. The four occupants in the SUV were able to crawl out of the sun roof opening and received non-life threatening injuries. The truck driver was treated at the scene and denied ambulance transportation to the hospital. Traffic was down to one lane for two hours and backed up over nine miles north of the accident. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. 

Engine 13, Rescue 1, Medic 1, Medic 13, Car 104, Car 105, Car 112, Hampton County Fire-Rescue and Hampton County EMS responded. Deputy Chief David Greene served as Incident Commander.
