01/April/2022 - Shooting Incident - "B" Shift

Incident # 22-02448 - Five people were shot during an altercation in the 1900 block of Logan Farm Road Friday night at 23:36. The initial report was one person was injured at the location. Engine 26 and Medic 26 responded to the rural one lane dirt road approximately 2 miles off of Mount Carmel Road. While enroute, the incident was upgraded to two people shot, but dispatchers were having problems obtaining information from the chaotic scene. Some occupants went to a house near the location and other injured parties ran south on Logan Farm Road to escape the scene. Responding Sheriff's Deputies located four shooting victims on the dark road approximately 1/4 mile south of the incident location. They began providing medical care and bleeding control to the victims as they updated 9-1-1 on the number of patients. Fire-Rescue dispatched four additional ambulances to the scene and had two medical helicopters respond. Logan Farm Rd was blocked in the 1900 block by a disabled pickup truck that was involved. Firefighter-Paramedics treated a 17 yr. old male for a GSW to the abdomen at a home near the initial location and transported him in Fire-Rescue Medic 26 emergent to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston. Other responding units approached the scene from the Wolfe Creek Rd end due to the road being blocked.
Medic 18 treated and transported a 22 yr male with multiple gunshot wounds to the helipad at Colleton Medical Center to meet with the CARE Flight helicopter. Additional Firefighter-Paramedics were onboard to assist with his care. The patient was transferred to the Flight Crew and flown to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center. Medic 19 treated and transported a 22 yr old male with multiple gunshot wounds to a field near the intersection of Mount Carmel Road and Ruffin Road to meet with the Meducare Helicopter. The patient was transferred to the Flight Crew, then flown to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charlston. Fire-Rescue Medic 7 transported a 19 yr. old male with two gunshot wounds to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center and Medic 1 transported a 33 yr old female with non-life threatening gunshot wounds to Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. The Colleton County Sheriff's Office and SLED are investigating the incident. 

Engine 19, Engine 26, Medic 1, Medic 7, Medic 18, Medic 19, Medic 26, Battalion 1, Car 112, Car 116 and Car 118 responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as Incident Commander.
