Incident # 22-00088 - Two Florida residents were injured in a single vehicle, motorcycle MVC on ACE Basin Parkway (US Hwy 17) near Ashepoo Drive, Monday afternoon 03-January at 15:41. The northbound motorcycle suffered a rear wheel problem causing the driver to lose control and topple over in the roadway. Both riders received injuries. The male driver suffered a non-life threatening head injury, while the adult female passenger received multiple injuries. Both were treated at the scene by Firefighter-Paramedics, then transported emergent to the Trauma Center at MUSC by Fire-Rescue Medic 6. A medical helicopter was enroute to the scene, but developed a mechanical issue and had to abort the response. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
