03/January/2021 - Structure Fire - "B" Shift

Incident # 21-00072 - A workshop and storage building received heavy damage in an early morning fire at 34 Bentley Dr. north of Walterboro Sunday 03-January. Engine 19 arrived to find the two buildings well involved and three other storage buildings on the property endangered. Firefighter-Paramedics deployed multiple hand lines to combat the fire. They were able to protect the three exposures, however the two buildings that were on fire suffered substantial damage. Units were on the scene for close to two hours. The occupant advised he had been working on a gas powered piece of equipment just prior to fire. He was treated at the scene for burns to his face and hands, but denied ambulance transport to the hospital. 

Engine 19, Engine 26, Tender 1, Tender 5, Tender 19, Tender 26, Tender 27, Medic 1, Medic 19, Medic 26, Battalion 1 and Car 118 responded. Firefighter-Paramedic Brian Bishop served as Incident Commander.
