22/September/2017 – New Helicopter placed in Service – “C” Shift

The Med-Trans, C.A.R.E. (Colleton Air Rescue Evac) Flight Medical Helicopter Program, based at Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro, a partnership with Colleton County Fire-Rescue, received a new Bell 407 GXP Helicopter Friday 22-September. The new aircraft was delivered at the Lowcountry Regional Airport, where Med Trans and Fire-Rescue personnel swapped the equipment and supplies from the older aircraft to the new one. All of the inspections were completed and the new air ambulance was placed into service later in the afternoon. The unit is beautifully painted red, white and black and has the C.A.R.E. Flight logo, a Maltese Cross/Star of Life with wings placed near the rear of the fuselage. Crewmembers are proud of the new aircraft, which completed two transports Friday evening.
