10/March/2017 – Woods and Structure Fire – “B” Shift

Incident # 17-01621 – A Forestry Commission reconnaissance plane spotted a woods and structure fire in the area of the Roadside Community Friday afternoon 10-March at 15:31. Fire-Rescue units searched the area and found the fire in a field at the end of Ferguson Lane, a single lane dead end dirt road. The fire was inaccessible to fire apparatus. The fire originated from a trash/debris pile fire that spread into the field, then to a doublewide mobile home and a car. The home was well involved and almost completely burned down when fire units reached the scene. A Forestry tractor plowed a fire line around the perimeter of the fire. The structure and vehicle were total losses. Approximately 5 acres was also burned.

Engine 1, Engine 13, Engine 25, Tender 1, Tender 13, Medic 13, Battalion 1, Car 107 and Car 109 responded. Battalion Chief Scott O’Quinn served as Incident Commander.
