29/April/2014 – Fall with Air Evac – “C” shift

Incident # 14-02672 – A 53 year old man received suspected life threatening injuries after falling approximately 20 feet through the roof of an business at 1203 North Jefferies Blvd. The man landed on a fork lift and struck his head on a transmission. He was conscious but complained of pain from multiple traumatic injuries. Firefighter-Paramedics called for a medical helicopter while they immobilized the man and treated his injuries. He was transported to the helipad at Colleton Medical Center to meet with LifeNet 4 who was returning from a previous incident. The man was transferred without incident to the Flight Crew, then flown to the Trauma Center at MUSC.  

Medic 1, Car 12, Car 111 and Car 118 responded. Walterboro Public Safety units also responded. Battalion Chief Scott Feather served as Incident Commander.
