19/November/2013 – Stabbing Incident w/Air Evac – “A” Shif

Incident # 13-06329 – A 34 year old man received critical injuries in a stabbing incident that occurred at 107 Mincey Street Tuesday evening 19-November at 22:49. Responders found the man lying on the edge of the roadway. Firefighter-Paramedics discovered the man had a single stab wound to the upper chest and was having difficulty breathing. Crewmembers began treating the patient and requested a medical helicopter. The man was immobilized, treated, then transported to the Lowcountry Regional Airport to meet with LifeNet 7. He was transferred to the Flight Crew, then flown to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston. Walterboro Public Safety is conducting the investigation.

Engine 19, Medic 1, Battalion 1, Car 12 and Car 111 responded. Chief McRoy served as Incident Commander.
