06/09/2012 – Burn Patient with Air Evacuation – “A” Shift

Incident # 12-03048 – A 36 year old Lodge man received first and second degree burns on the lower half of his body after a hot liquid accidently fell on him at his home. The incident occurred Saturday afternoon 09-June at 18:23. The man was treated at the scene by Medic 18’s crew and Battalion 1 which included IVs and pain management. A medical helicopter was requested. Lifenet 4 flew to Lodge, landing at the baseball field approximately one mile from the scene.  He was transferred without incident, then flown to the Still Burn Unit at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, GA. Engine 17 and Engine 23 set up the Landing Zone.

Engine 17, Engine 23, Medic 18, Battalion 1 and Car 109 responded. Firefighter-Paramedic (Acting Battalion Chief) Brian Rowe served as Incident Commander. Fire Commissioner Doug Mixson Sr. served as LZ Coordinator.
