05/20/2012 – MVC with multiple injuries – “B” Shift

Incident # 12-02695 – A two car MVC at the intersection of Roberson Blvd and Hampton Street sent seven people to the hospital at 19:15 Sunday 20-May. A small compact car was struck in the side by a Crown Victoria causing the small car to drive into the parking lot of the Horizon Gas Station. Both cars suffered heavy damage. A 6 yr old girl in the Crown Victoria suffered abdominal injuries and an adult female received minor injuries. Both were transported by Medic 26 to Colleton Medical Center. Five people were in the compact car, three of which received traumatic injuries. A 19 year old male and an infant male were not injured. Two teenaged females in the back seat received significant injuries and a female in the front seat received non-life threatening traumatic injuries. All five were transported to Colleton Medical Center. The accident is being investigated by Walterboro Public Safety.

Engine 19, Medic 1, Medic 19, Medic 26, Battalion 1 and Car 12 responded. Chief McRoy served as Incident Commander.
