10/01/2011 – MVC w/Ejection & Air Evacuation

Incident # 11-05315 - A Smoaks man received multiple traumatic injuries following a single vehicle MVC in the 2000 block of Beulah Road west of Smoaks, Saturday morning 1-October at 09:01. The vehicle left the roadway, over corrected and hit an embankment. It possibly flipped over one time ejecting the driver according to a witness. Engine 7 arrived to find the man, semiconscious lying outside the vehicle. Firefighter-Paramedics on Medic 18 treated him at the scene, then transported him to a nearby field to meet with the Lifenet 3 Medical Helicopter out of Orangeburg. He was flown to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston. The SC Highway Patrol in investigating the crash.

Engine 7, Medic 18, Battalion 1 and Car 12 responded. Captain John Graham served as Incident Commander.
