Stations 9 and 19 responded to a single vehicle high speed MVC in the 4100 block of Coolers Dairy Road Sunday afternoon 3-Jan at 1410. A westbound minivan left the roadway, over-corrected and entered the woods on the opposite side of the road striking several trees. The van received heavy damage. The unrestrained driver was ejected from the vehicle and found conscious in the roadway. She suffered multiple traumatic injuries. A medical helicopter was requested to respond to a nearby field in the 1000 block of Saw Mill Road. Engine 9 was re-assigned to handle the landing zone. Engine 19 and Medic 9’s crews treated the critically injured woman at the scene.

While enroute to the landing zone Engine 9 drove up on a second high speed MVC in the 1200 block of Saw Mill Road. A vehicle struck the rear of a car that was backing out of a driveway causing heavy damage to both vehicles and injuring three people, including a four year old girl. The driver of one car had no injuries. Medic 27 was assigned to the second MVC and Engine 902 was dispatched to handle the Landing Zone. Omniflight-Charleston responded and flew the female patient from the Coolers Dairy Road MVC to the Trauma

Center at MUSC in Charleston.

All three patients from the second MVC were transported to Colleton Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.  

Engine 19, Engine 902  and Medic 9 responded to the Coolers Dairy Road MVC. Firefighter Ray Delonge served as Incident Commander.

Engine 9 and Medic 27 responded to the MVC on Saw Mill Road. Lt. Jimmy Jacques served as Incident Commander.
