19/August/2023 - Shooting Incidents - "B" and "C" Shifts

Incident # 23-06232 and # 23-06258 - An adult male intentionally shot himself in both legs Saturday morning 19-August near the Edisto Motel in the 17000 block of ACE Basin Parkway in Jacksonboro at 03:48. The man suffered two gunshot injuries and was treated at the scene by Fire-Rescue Medic 6. He was transported emergent to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston. The Colleton County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident. 

Medic 6, Engine 6, Battalion 1 and Car 118 responded. 

In the third shooting incident that occurred on Saturday, at 21:23, a 27 yr old man accidentally shot himself in the thigh while performing maintenance on his pistol. He was in the parking lot of the Family Dollar store at 3206 Robertson Blvd. in Walterboro. The man received a serious injury with suspected complications to his leg including a suspected fracture to his femur. Walterboro Police secured the scene and Firefighter-Paramedics treated the man at the scene. No medical helicopters were immediately available. He was transported emergent in Fire-Rescue Medic 19 to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston. The Walterboro Police Dept. is investigating the incident. 

Medic 19, Battalion 1, Car 111 and Car 118 responded. Battalion Chief Chris Jones served as Incident Commander.
