18/June/2018 – Shooting Incident – “A” Shift

 Incident # 18-04197 – Law Enforcement stopped a speeding car in the 1400 block of Hampton Street Monday morning 18-June at 00:42. The car stopped in the parking lot of Budget Tire. Inside the officer found two adults, one female and one male, who had been shot at another location. The woman was ambulatory and received a gunshot injury to her back. The male received two wounds to the abdomen and was in critical condition. Firefighter-Paramedics began treating both patients and requested a second ambulance. The C.A.R.E. Flight helicopter was also alerted and placed on standby. The critically injured male was rapidly transported to the helipad at Colleton Medical Center in Fire-Rescue Medic 19 where the patient was transferred to the Flight Crew, then flown to the Trauma Center at Trident Hospital in North Charleston. The woman was stabilized and was also transported emergent to Trident Hospital in Fire-Rescue Medic 1. The Sheriff’s Office is investigating and was assisted by Walterboro Police Officers.

Medic 1, Medic 19, Battalion 1, Car 112 and Car 118 responded. Battalion Chief Scott O’Quinn served as Incident Commander.
