24/June/2017 – Shooting Incident – “C” Shift
Incident # 17-04337 – An adult male was critically injured
in a shooting incident at 602 Smyly Road in the Ruffin Community Saturday
night 24-June at 23:39. The 54 year old man was found conscious at the scene
and received a single gunshot wound to the upper abdomen. He was quickly
treated at the scene by Firefighter-Paramedics, then transported emergent to
the helipad at Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro by Medic 18. Due to his
condition, two additional Firefighter-Paramedics assisted during the
transport. The patient was transferred to the Flight Crew and flown by
C.A.R.E. Flight to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North
Charleston. The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the
incident.
Medic 18, Battalion 1, Car 112 and Car 118 responded.
