25/October/2016 – Explorer Training

The Fire-Rescue Explorers celebrated their eighth year Tuesday evening at Station # 19. Battalion Chief Scott Feather, Captain Mike Rohaus and Battalion Chief Brent Dalton grilled burgers and hot dogs for the teens. Instead of a training session, the group played football and basketball and also responded to a building fire. Everyone had a great time. The Explorer Program is open to teens between the ages of 14 and 17. They learn about the fire and emergency medical service and can begin participating in SC Fire Academy training courses at age 16. They meet monthly at Station 19 on the second Tuesday at 7:00 PM.
