Station 1 was dispatched to a reported woods fire in the 4000 block of Sniders Hwy, at 0604 Friday morning 31-July. A man driving on Sniders Hwy reported seeing smoke and flames well off the road in the woods. Engine 1 arrived and could also see a large fire in the woods about ¼ mile off the highway. After finding an access road, Engine 1 drove to a mobile home and then took a narrow overgrown path into the woods to find a large triple wide mobile home that had already burned almost completely down. A structural assignment was dispatched, but the home was already a complete loss. Firefighters were on the scene for approximately two and half hours performing overhaul and investigating the fire. The home was not occupied at the time of the fire and was used as rental property.

Engine 1, Engine 4, Tender 1, Tender 4, Tender 26, Tender 27, Squad 26, Medic 27, Battalion 1, Truck 12, Truck 110 responded. Battalion Chief Dan Barb served as Incident Commander.
