Colleton County Fire-Rescue

10/22/2008

Stations 1, 19, 24 and 26 responded to a dwelling fire at 46 Shadow Court at 0526, Wednesday morning 22-October. Engine 19 found light smoke visible on arrival. One 1-3/4 handline was deployed to the rear bed room of the singlewide mobile home. Interior crews quickly brought the fire under control. The occupant was home at the time of the fire and had smoke detectors. The fire originated in an electrical socket in the rear bed room and spread to a nearby bed. Fortunately the bedroom door was closed which held the fire in that one room until firefighters arrived. The bed room suffered substantial damage, but the remainder of the mobile home only suffered slight smoke damage. No one was injured and most of the man's belongings were saved.

Engine 1, Engine 19, Tanker 19, Tanker 26, Medic 19, Battalion 1, Truck 11 and Truck 12 responded. Lt. Scott Feather served as Incident Commander.
